The sheer fact Kishimoto’s assistant had to tweet in english TWICE (he very rarely tweets in english WHICH SHOULD MEAN HE’S MAKING AN EFFORT TO CONVEY A MESSAGE TO A PARTICULAR GROUP *COUGH* US INTERNATIONAL FANS) implies and indicates two things,

1. He and, quite obviously, Kishimoto are aware of how international fans have reacted.

2. It’s only the international fans (well particular Naruto fans… you know who you are) taking drastic measures based on the ending.

Do you know how ashamed I feel right now? As divided as any fandom can be, we all still influence the entirety of it and to think that Kishi found out about how people want to change or rewrite his ending, I can only imagine how he must be feeling right now - insulted and shocked.

I’m pretty sure the poor guy already knew, like in any series, you can’t please everyone but I don’t think he expected that people would be willing to redo his ending. You know, an ending HE felt satisfied with. An ending HE believed he would be proud of. Do you realize what you’re making him feel? You’re making him feel like an incompetent writer who doesn’t have the full control and freedom towards his own work. HIS OWN WORK.

SHAME ON YOU. THIS BREAKS MY HEART. HE WORKED 15 YEARS ON THIS WONDERFUL SERIES. If you didn’t like it, just leave it be and tend to your own fanfiction! MY GOD.
